Speed reading sessions
Once again I like to thank you for your inspiring class, last Thursday in Cranfield. I’m convinced that your insights will make my life as a doctorate researcher a lot easier!
Hugo Marynissen, Executive Doctorate (DBA) Researcher 2009/2013, Senior Consultant at ProgressiveMedia strategic communication consultancy, specialising in crisis communication.
In a remarkably short space of time (only a couple of hours in fact), Noel taught me the technique that took my reading from a very average 330 words a minute to 520 words a minute. With diligent practice of only 5 – 10 minutes a day, that increased quite soon to just over 600 words a minutes.
Noel’s approach is to get you started straight away. This is a great approach – real benefits in real-time. What makes him different is that he also approaches the subject with a strategic angle, looking at why you’re reading and what you want to get out of it. Noel can also provide some valuable insights into report writing that will make the process faster, more effective and easier for the recipient to absorb.

I walked in to the restaurant late tonight and found that other teams were talking widely about the speed reading course Noel did and how excellent it was.
IT Manager & Cranfield MBA Student.
I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for the session that you ran on Speed Reading as part of the Workshops. This was without a doubt the most useful session over the two-day workshop.
Senior Manager, Public Sector.
A really useful and insightful session yesterday. Thank you. I have started practising already! ‘Speed reading’ may have been the title of the session, but my take away was more than that; ‘efficient and effective’ reading.

Using creativity
It was excellent. A perfect balance of team building and problem solving, exactly as I requested. The problem solving methodology fits neatly into processes that analysts should be trying to use when identifying a customer’s requirements. Noel was really impressive and is a natural for this. I am glad I asked him as I wouldn’t have done anything like as good a job.

Coaching and mentoring
Through his patience and guidance Noel gave me ‘permission’ to use skills such as listening, negotiation and leadership skills I had developed in the voluntary sector and transfer them to my current role. He gave me the confidence to formalise the arrangements using my Performance Development Review and supported me through the transitional period.
Working with Noel has been an absolute pleasure for me, he is knowledgeable, kind, caring and incredibly patient.
Director, Voluntary Sector.
